As the mission states: “The Transportation Security Administration protects the Nation’s transportation systems to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce.”  This mission is vastly important and more complex than ever requiring specific training which is aligned with current day threats.  The vast majority of TSA Screeners are non law enforcement and cannot qualify to attend available training classes, yet these employees are the first to interact with the flying public and spend more time with passengers than anyone else in the system.
